Janear Garrus is an Educator and the Founder of Chesapeake Educational Alliance (CHEDA): an EdTech company that creates and implements programming to enrich youth in technology, digital media, and entrepreneurship. Through CHEDA, Janear directs and operates Spartek Academy, Launch Business Camps, the Baltimore Children’s Business Fair, and Greater Purpose Christian Homeschoolers organizations, all of which she founded. CHEDA is also a service provider for topflight organizations. In 2019, Janear was an Ambassador for Digital Media Academy for the DMV area and was contracted to manage and operate the Digital Media Academy Camps at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Prior to CHEDA, Janear was a graphic designer within her own company, Garrus Creative, for over 10 years: serving business and non-profit clients with their marketing and creative needs.
Not only is Janear a busy entrepreneur, but she is a mom, wife, artist, and avid sports lover. She brings her artistic background to the programs she builds and allows creativity to fuel her and her students to create world class educational experiences.
Janear holds a Bachelor’s in Studio Art from Spelman College and Master’s of Science in Information Technology from Kennesaw State University.
